STACS student testing

You can order the free fully functional time limited Server Multi Teacher Evaluation Version of STACS for your school using the order form under Order Evaluation Version item of the top menu. You will be required to provide school email address, postal address and Roll Number.

Teachers should be careful to follow the instructions precisely if adding a teacher using the STACS Local Machine Version. The STACS Server version can automatically add the teacher network user name as the teacher will be logged on. The relevant teacher log on name has to be added ‘manually’ if using the Local Machine Version as the computer is not connected to the network and so STACS cannot read the user name.

This is an area where users might be slightly confused at first. STACS maintains a Test Bank for each Teacher/Class combination. Test files created using the STACS Offline Test Creator Application are uploaded to the relevant Test Bank using the ‘Upload Test File(s) from External Medium to Teacher/Class Test Bank’ item of the Upload menu.
When a teacher wishes to give a test, the teacher uploads the test from the Teacher/Class Test Bank to the student folders using the ‘Upload Test File from Test Bank for Student Group to Sit Test’ item of the Upload menu. The students can then be directed to take the test.

Users are reminded that the instructions need to be followed precisely when using the STACS Local Machine Version to add a teacher or a student. This is because STACS needs the teacher network user name but cannot read it when the machine is not connected to the network. STACS also needs the student network user names for the Sit Test module which will be used later, to ensure that a student cannot take a test on behalf of another student. Everything else is the same for all versions.

There may be some minor inconsistencies between the ‘How To’ videos and STACS itself as the application is subject to continuous refinement. However, every effort is made to keep the ‘How To’ videos up to date.
