STACS is designed to run on a wired computer networking running Windows Server 2008 or later with student workstations running Windows Vista or later. A slightly different installation process is required for earlier versions of Windows Server. Interested parties should initially order the free fully featured time limited STACS Server Multi Teacher Evaluation Version from the Order Evaluation Version tab of the top menu for testing purposes if using an earlier version of Windows Server.

The STACS Main application can be installed on any computer on the network, including a teacher’s laptop provided that it has a Pro version of Windows and has been joined to the network. The optimum solution, however, is to install the STACS Main Application on a dedicated teacher computer in a computer room.

The STACS Local Machine Version can be used to update teacher folders offline regardless of operating system installed. It is also ideal for evaluating STACS without having to be connected to a server.
